Book: Magic Rises (Kate Daniels #6)

Description: Atlanta is a city plagued by magical problems. Kate Daniels will fight to solve them—no matter the cost.
Mercenary Kate Daniels and her mate, Curran, the Beast Lord, are struggling to solve a heartbreaking crisis. Unable to control their beasts, many of the Pack’s shapeshifting children fail to survive to adulthood. While there is a medicine that can help, the secret to its making is closely guarded by the European packs, and there’s little available in Atlanta.
Kate can’t bear to watch innocents suffer, but the solution she and Curran have found threatens to be even more painful. The European shapeshifters who once outmaneuvered the Beast Lord have asked him to arbitrate a dispute—and they’ll pay him in medicine. With the young people’s survival and the Pack’s future at stake, Kate and Curran know they must accept the offer—but they have little doubt that they’re heading straight into a trap…
My Thoughts: There's not much to say about this book, because honestly if you've read anything by Ilona Andrews you know they're all amazing. Even further, if you've read anything in the Kate Daniels series, you know that nothing in this series can be horrible. The same can be said for Magic Rises.
We pick up the story with Kate again living in the Keep, and as the description says, she and Curran are having trouble stopping the kids in the Pack from going loup. The only way to fix it is to answer a request from a European Pack who has it. Of course they're headed into a trap, but once you find out how serious a trap it is, you'll know how freaking serious this book really is.
I love Kate, and I love Curran, and this book has those scenes that you remember made you fall in love with them from the beginning. Everyone you love is in this book, Derek, Aunt B, and more characters are introduced that you know you can grow to like. That being said, this book will test your nerves. It took my heart and yanked it into multiple directions and literally made me super sad, and super happy and just all around crazy.
This book chewed me up and spit me out, and then kissed all my wounds back together. It was one of my favorites of the series. I am absolutely going to be reading it again, probably in audio format this time. The audiobooks of this series are really good for those of you who like audiobooks. The narrator is pretty good and I love them too.
If you've been thinking about this series, give it a chance (and give it more than just one book to feel the love.) If you've already read this series thus far and are thinking about this next book, stop thinking and pick it up already. It's great. I give it 5 big huge stars!

I actually didn't enjoy the last book in this series very much :( I think it's suffering from the too many books in the series syndrome. Don't know if I'm going to bother reading this one because I've read a few reviews and I think I'm going to be annoyed by some of the things other people did. Shame because I used to love Kate and Curran so much.
OMG Lan!!! No... say it isnt so? I can see the reasons some would be annoyed, but those are the things that made me like this one actually. In addition to the fact that this one isnt that much like the others in terms of plot scructure.
If you happen to chanhe your mind and pick it up, let me know what you think.
