Book: Misfit
By: Jon Skovron
Publication Date: August 1, 2011
Publisher: Abrams, Harry N., Inc.
Description: Jael has always felt like a freak. She’s never kissed a boy, she never knew her mom, and her dad’s always been superstrict—but that’s probably because her mom was a demon, which makes Jael half demon and most definitely not a normal sophomore girl. On her sixteenth birthday, a mysterious present unlocks her family’s dangerous history and Jael’s untapped potential. What was merely an embarrassing secret before becomes a terrifying reality. Jael must learn to master her demon side in order to take on a vindictive Duke of Hell while also dealing with a twisted priest, best-friend drama, and a spacey blond skater boy who may have hidden depths.
My Thoughts: Misfit was an amazing book about a girl with demonic powers. I haven’t read many demon books and this one was great.
I do not want to give too much away for this book because I definitely want everyone to read it. To begin, Jael is half demon, half mortal, an anomaly. Her Mother was a Succubus known by many names (trust me, you’ll be surprised when you find them out) who gave her life to protect her daughter. The book gave us a nice back story about the history of her mother and father, and history in general. I loved the telling of the stories and how Jael seemed to be magically transported into the story instead of just told what happened.
I loved the idea that Jael is half demon and is going to a catholic school. It’s just funny to me. Furthermore, I loved all the extra attention Jael received when she got her “succubus demonic beauty." It was amazing, funny, and perverted all at the same time (wait until you see what the priests at the school do…haha…too funny). The love interest was great and gorgeous and amazing, but the best friend annoyed me. I just didn’t like her “holier than thou” attitude. Don't judge others if you cannot judge yourself first, and please don’t even get me started on her reaction to the fact that Jael is a half demon. I wanted to reach in the book and punch her myself.

Nice. This book is coming up quick on my to-be-read list. It's great to hear such good things about it.
I really like this book too. I loved how it told her mother and father's story.
I haven't read a bad review of this one so far! I really love the MC's name as well. All good signs for a book. I haven't read many demon related books either Sherre but I'll be getting this one :)
