Your dog is so cute! I have no idea what it's like to grow up for nine years as an only child. I have 5 siblings! Your idea of a great valentines sounds awesome. actually anything involving books and reading sounds awesome!
I also have a bunch of siblings, nine to be exact, so I can't relate either, Lol. I say be glad you have someone special to spend valentines day with,and that they went out of their way to spend it with you, that means a lot especially for a guy and his job. I was on my lonesome, and no I didn't take your advice. Your perfect date idea sounds quaint and romantic, like some thing I'd like to do, but seeing as I know u I'm a little surprised u'd want to cuddle up and do anything. Lol.
